Visual novels are a popular video game story telling genre that focus on creating a bond between the player and the characters. However, the problem in current games is that they are static, causing the games to be repetitive and players to have limited freedom in how they interact with the story, giving a deporsonalized experience.
With recent breakthroughs in large language models (LLMs), it becomes possible to write narratives on the spot, granting the player the opportunity to speak with the characters as they see fit and even deciding their own actions. By inserting LLMs into visual novels, the player is given a new degree of freedom, creating a story that is truly their own.
It is my wish to use this novel LLM technology to create a new story telling experience not seen thus far, one in which the player has more control over the story than ever before and can truly feel like they are part of it, rather than just watching or reading it.
